<br />DCB:rb 8/23/84 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. 9 6 7 9 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br />AUG 2 7 1984 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DETERMINE <br />DISABILITY IN RETIREMENT APPLICATIONS OF EMPLOYEES IN <br />THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City, California, hereinafter <br /> <br />referred to as Agency, is a contracting agency of the Public <br /> <br />Employees' Retirement System; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Public Employees' Retirement Law requires that <br /> <br />a contracting agency determine whether an employee of such agency <br /> <br />in employment is disabled for purposes of the Public Employees' <br /> <br />Retirement Law and whether such disability is within the meaning <br /> <br />of such law; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redwood City has <br />determined that it may delegate authority to make such <br /> <br />determinations; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS <br /> <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. The City Council of the City of Redwood City does <br /> <br />hereby delegate to the City Manager of said City, the authority <br /> <br />to determine disability in retirement applications of employees <br /> <br />in the Public Employees' Retirement System; and <br /> <br />2. The City Manager is hereby delegated the authority to <br /> <br />make applications for disability retirement to the Public <br /> <br />Employees' Retirement System and to take all other appropriate <br /> <br />actions with regard to disability retirement and reinstatement of <br /> <br />members under the Public Employees' Retirement Law. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />9 c: "~I 9.. <br />'7, u" <br />
