<br />DES:djc 4/4/86 <br /> <br />1. This Council hereby determines and declares that the <br /> <br /> <br />public interest and necessity occasioned by the above described <br /> <br /> <br />circumstances involving the rupture of a water transmission line <br /> <br />on Farm Hill Boulevard in the City of Redwood City demand the <br /> <br /> <br />immediate expenditure of public money to safeguard life, health <br /> <br /> <br />and property. <br /> <br />2. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to <br /> <br /> <br />enter into such agreements, and/or engage day labor or purchase <br /> <br />materials or labor in the open market, or otherwise make <br /> <br /> <br />provision to perform all public work necessary to ensure a <br /> <br /> <br />continuous supply of potable water heretofore interrupted by the <br /> <br /> <br />aforesaid occurrence, and to repair, replace, restore and <br /> <br />maintain the aforesaid water transmission line, such alternate <br /> <br /> <br />water supply facilities as may be necessary to ensure a <br /> <br /> <br />continuing supply of potable water, the public right-of-way <br /> <br />affected thereby, and any and all appurtenances to said water <br /> <br />transmission line and public right-of-way, all as may be <br /> <br /> <br />necessary and appropriate in the public interest, pursuant to the <br /> <br />provisions of Section 68 of the Charter of the City of Redwood <br /> <br /> <br />City. <br /> <br /> <br />3. Any and all expenditures of public money heretofore <br /> <br />made or incurred in connection with the aforesaid occurrence are <br /> <br />hereby ratified. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />2 <br />
