RES 0 L UTI 0 N N O. 10296 AUG 4 1986 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY PROPOSING CERTAIN AMENDMENTS TO THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND ORDERING SUBMISSION THEREOF TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AT A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HEREIN CALLED FOR SUCH PURPOSE ON NOVEMBER 4, 1986; AND REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO TO CONSOLIDATE SAID ELECTION WITH THE STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON SAID DATE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. <br />DES:djc 8/1/86 <br /> <br />15200), Division 11 of the Elections Code shall govern such <br /> <br /> <br />usage, and the ballot card or other device shall be prepared (1) <br /> <br /> <br />so that any qualified elector may vote for any Charter amendment <br /> <br />proposition by punching or otherwise specifying an affirmative <br /> <br />vote in a space provided there for; ( 2) so that any qual i f ied <br /> <br /> <br />elector may vote against any such Charter amendment proposition <br /> <br /> <br />by punching or otherwise specifying a negative vote in a space <br /> <br />provided therefor. <br /> <br /> <br />Where voting machines are used at said Special Municipal <br /> <br /> <br />Election, said voting machines shall be arranged (1) so that any <br /> <br /> <br />qualified elector may vote for any Charter amendment proposition <br /> <br />by pulling down a lever adjacent to the word "YES" under or near <br /> <br /> <br />the statement of the Charter amendment proposition appearing on <br /> <br /> <br />the cardboard, paper or other material placed on the front of the <br /> <br /> <br />machine, and said act shall constitute a vote for the <br /> <br /> <br />proposition; and (2) so that any qualified elector may vote <br /> <br /> <br />against any such Charter amendment proposition by pulling down a <br /> <br />lever adjacent to the word II NO II under or near said statement of <br /> <br /> <br />the proposition so placed on the front of the machine, and said <br /> <br />act shall constitute a vote against the proposition. Said voting <br /> <br />machines and the preparation thereof shall comply in all respects <br /> <br />with requirements of law. <br /> <br />The returns of said election shall be made out and signed by <br /> <br /> <br />the election officers and as otherwise required by law and shall <br /> <br /> <br />be deposited with the City Clerk or other officer authorized to <br /> <br /> <br />receive said returns.
