JLICE BUSINESS MANAGER <br /> <br />DEFINITION <br /> <br />EXHIBIT "A" <br /> <br />To plan and direct the development and implementation of administrative programs <br />and policies for the Services Division of the Police Department. <br /> <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br /> <br />Functional and technical supervision is provided by the Police Chief. <br /> <br />Provides functional or technical supervision to subordinate personnel. <br /> <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: <br /> <br />Assists in the development of goals, objectives, policies and priorities. <br /> <br />Plan, direct, supervise and coordinate the activities of division personnel in <br />providing technical and support services for the Police Department. <br /> <br />Formulate rules, procedures and policies for a division and see that they are <br />carried out. <br /> <br />Prepare and administer a division budget. <br /> <br />Coordinate the preparation and monitor the department budget. <br /> <br />Review and approve payroll and payroll transactions. <br /> <br />Confer with citizens and City officials on police services concerns and assist in <br />the identification of service needs and priorities. <br /> <br />Advise the Police Chief regarding the activities and needs of the division. <br />Assist in the planning for the growth and future service needs of the department. <br /> <br />Monitor, review and inspect the activities of a division to ensure maximum <br />utilization of resources and conformance with established regulations, policies and <br />procedures. <br /> <br />Prepare and present a variety of reports to the Police Chief and others as may be <br />appropriate. <br /> <br />Coordinate the communications capital improvement program and the operation of the <br />local government communications network. <br /> <br />Select, supervise, train and evaluate assigned staff. <br /> <br />Review employee performance evaluations and take appropriate action as necessary. <br /> <br />Review current and devise new service delivery method: to assure efficient and <br />effective use Gf resources. ' <br /> <br />Coordinate the computerized information systems used by the department. <br /> <br />Represent the department to other City departments, citizens and groups. <br /> <br />Perform related duties as assigned. <br /> <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
