B. Ordinance Amending the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance to Add Section <br /> 52, Planned Community District or P- District; (301) <br /> <br /> Interim Community Development Director Liedstrand explained that purpose of <br /> the Precise Plan ordinance is to create a tool in order to have a more <br /> individualized set of land use regulations for a particular piece of property if <br /> needed. He further stated that all Precise Plans would first be considered by the <br /> Planning Commission and then brought to City Council for approval. A <br /> presentation was made utilizing examples from Mountain View where this tool was <br /> beneficial in the planning and design process. <br /> <br /> The Planning Commission recommends this ordinance amendment to the City <br /> Council. <br /> <br /> Council questions and discussion ensued. <br /> <br /> M/S Howard/Pierce to INTRODUCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE REDWOOD <br /> CITY ZONING ORDINANCE TO ADD SECTION 52, PLANNED COMMUNITY DISTRICT <br /> OR P - DISTRICT; <br /> <br /> The motion passed by a majority roll call vote with Council Member Ruskin voting <br /> no and Council Member Jordan abstaining. A public hearing on the establishment and designation of the "Main Street <br /> Historic District" per Chapter 40 of the Redwood City Code; (612) <br /> <br /> Ken Rolandelli, Chairperson of the Historic Resources Advisory Committee <br /> (HRAC) stated that this is the second time that the HRAC and the Planning <br /> Commission are making a Historic District recommendation. Mr. Rolandelli <br /> explained the benefits of the designation and the designation criteria.
