<br />DAS:sh 2/20/87 (#19) <br /> <br />OR'''lP'';AL <br />lull', <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />NO. 10423 <br /> <br />~E~ 23 7987 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CONDEMNING BUILDING AT 406 CEDAR STREET AS <br />A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND DIRECTING RECONSTRUCTION OR REMOVAL <br />THEREOF <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Building Department of this City has determined <br /> <br />that the dwelling unit which is located at 406 Cedar Street is a <br /> <br />public nuisance as defined by Section 9.5 of the Redwood City <br /> <br />Code because the building has become manifestly unsafe for the <br /> <br />purpose for which it is being used; the building exists and is <br /> <br />maintained in violation of specific requirements and prohibitions <br /> <br />applicable to such building regulations of the City; the <br /> <br />building, because of inadequate maintenance, dilapidation, decay, <br /> <br />damage, <br /> <br />faulty plumbing and natural gas connections, and <br /> <br />inadequate sanitation facilities, has been determined to be unfit <br /> <br />for human habitation and is unsanitary; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Building Department has given notice to the <br /> <br />owners of the building at 406 Cedar Street, as evidenced by <br /> <br />Exhibit A, to appear before this City Council to show cause, if <br /> <br />any, why such building should not be declared to be a public <br /> <br />nuisance and abated in accordance with the provisions of Chapter <br /> <br />9 of the Redwood City Code; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council has received extensive evidence that <br /> <br />the building at 406 Cedar Street has become dilapidated and has <br /> <br />numerous Building, Housing, Plumbing and Fire Code violations and <br /> <br />Zoning Ordinance violations; <br /> <br />'-.. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1 0423 <br />
