<br />. <br />M'-.rch ' 17 CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />PARK RANGER <br />SALARY - $1941 - 2359 EXHIBIT "A" <br /> <br />DEFINITION <br /> <br />To perform a wide variety of assigned and self-initiated tasks and <br />projects required to maintain park and open space areas, institute land <br />management projects, maintain park facilities and provide visitor <br />services. <br /> <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br /> <br />Received general direction and functional supervision from the Director <br />of Parks, Recreation and Community Services and Park and Recreation <br />Superintendent. <br /> <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Duties may include, but are not limited to, the <br />following: <br /> <br />Patrol parks and open space areas. <br /> <br />Provide assistance to park visitors. <br /> <br />Insure visitors are complying with park rules and regulations, and <br />issue misdemeanor citations when appropriate. <br /> <br />May assist Police Officers in emergency situations. <br /> <br />Respond to citizen complaints in wtiting and verbally. <br /> <br />Prepare reports. <br /> <br />Make court appearances. <br /> <br />- <br />Check reserved parties into the parks and assign visitors to <br />appropriate locations. <br /> <br />Conduct mini-lectures to interested partiQs on natural and historical <br />park features. <br /> <br />Identify problems and address solutions. <br />Exercise tact, resourcefulness, and persuasion in dealing with people. <br /> <br />Prepare clear and concise reports and develop brochures. <br /> <br />Develop and implement land vegetation and wildlife conservation <br />programs. <br /> <br />Operate various park equipment: tractors, tractor accessories, power <br />tools, radios. <br /> <br />Perform emergency routine custodial maintenance tasks. <br /> <br />Comply with all the laws of the State of California and City <br />Ordinances. <br /> <br />Administer First Aid and CPR. <br /> <br />Perform related duties as assigned. <br />
