<br />f:WC : d j k 9 / 2 5 / 8 7 ( # 2 1 ) <br /> <br />SEP 2 8 1987 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />1 0 64 8 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REJECTING ALL BIDS FOR 1987-88 SIDEWALK <br />RECONSTRUCTION AND WHEELCHAIR RAMP PROJECT; AND <br />AUTHORIZING CALL FOR NEW BIDS THEREFOR <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 10614, adopted August <br /> <br />24, 1987, this Council approved the plans and specifications for <br /> <br />the 1987-88 sidewalk reconstruction and wheelchair ramp project; <br /> <br />and authorized the City Clerk to call for bids therefor; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the aforementioned specifications required that all <br /> <br />bidders submit, as part of their bids, certain certifications <br /> <br />establishing the good faith compliance, by said bidders, with the <br /> <br />federal affirmative action and Section 3 requirements imposed by <br /> <br />the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the aforementioned specifications further advised <br /> <br />bidders <br /> <br />that <br /> <br />failure <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />submit <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />required <br /> <br />federal <br /> <br />certifications would result in such bidders' bids being declared <br /> <br />unresponsive; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, four bids were received for said project, none of <br /> <br />which contained the required federal certifications, and are <br /> <br />therefore unresponsive; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council must reject all of the aforesaid <br /> <br />unresponsive bids, and call for new bids for said project; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. All bids for the 1987-88 sidewalk reconstruction and <br /> <br />wheelchair ramp project are hereby rejected; and the City Clerk <br /> <br />10648 <br />
