<br />~:nt 11/17/87 (#22) <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />I 0686 <br /> <br />NOV 2 3 1987 <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR <br />FUNDING UNDER THE CALIFORNIA SENIOR CENTER BOND ACT OF <br />1984 FOR TEWCI SENIOR CENTER ADDITION TO FAIR OAKS <br />COMMUNITY CENTER <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have approved <br /> <br />the Senior Center Bond Act of 1984, which provides funds to <br /> <br />public and private non-profit agencies for the purpose of <br /> <br />acquiring, constructing, altering or renovating senior centers <br /> <br />and purchasing equipment or funding start-up costs for senior <br /> <br />centers; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the California Department of Aging has been <br /> <br />delegated the responsibility for the administration of the <br /> <br />program, setting up necessary procedures governing applications <br /> <br />by public and non-profit groups under the program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said procedures established by the California <br /> <br />Department of Aging require each applicant to certify by <br /> <br />resolution the approval of an application prior to submission of <br /> <br />said application to the State; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Project applied for under this Program must be <br /> <br />of a high priority and satisfy the most urgent need with priority <br /> <br />on unmet senior center needs from rural, low income and racial or <br /> <br />ethnic minority areas; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. This Council hereby approves the filing of an <br /> <br />application for funding under the Senior Center Bond Act of 1984; <br /> <br />10 686 <br />
