<br />( <br /> <br />VI. STATE AUTHORITY OF PLAN <br /> <br />In 1965, the State of California approved laws which allowed local juris- <br />dictions the option to approve specific plans. This is covered under <br />Chapter 3, Article 8, Planning and Zoning Laws of California. <br /> <br />The State law gives the local jurisdiction the authority to include location <br />and regulation of buildings and land uses, location and standards for trans- <br />portation facilities, density, water supply and ?astedisposal, conservation, <br />and development of natural resources, open space, and other natural features <br />within a specific plan. <br /> <br />The specific plan is intended to be compatible with the General Plan, but <br />more detailed to allow future developers and the City more guidance for new <br />projects. <br /> <br />- 7 - <br />~){H-I e IT '(.1 ,t -II <br />
