<br />SWC-djk 10/12/87 (#21) <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N o. 1 0 71 6 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br />FEB 1 1988 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING AMENDED POLICY RELATING TO THE <br />UTILIZATION OF DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES IN <br />FEDERALLY FUNDED PROJECTS; SETTING AMENDED <br />PARTICIPATION GOAL FOR FISCAL YEAR 1987-88; AND <br />RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 10514 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 10514, adopted June 1, <br /> <br />1987, this Council adopted a policy relating to the utilization <br /> <br />of disadvantaged business enterprises <br /> <br />and women business <br /> <br />enterprises <br /> <br />in <br /> <br />federally <br /> <br />funded <br /> <br />projects <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />setting <br /> <br />participation goals for fiscal year 1987-88; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, subsequent to adoption of said resolution, the <br /> <br />California Department of Transportation on behalf of the federal <br /> <br />government, amended its requirements so as to include the goal <br /> <br />for Women Business Enterprises within the goal for Disadvantaged <br /> <br />Business Enterprises; and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Council an amended <br /> <br />policy by which the City will commit to substantially increasing <br /> <br />its utilization of DBE's in programs or projects funded wholly or <br /> <br />in part by federal funds; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there has also been presented to this Council an <br /> <br />amended goal goal for participation by DBE's in the Fiscal Year <br /> <br />1987-88; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to approve and <br /> <br />adopt the DBE policy and the participation goal; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />10716 <br />
