<br />EXHIBIT "A" <br /> <br />City of Redwood City <br /> <br />HOUSING CLERK <br /> <br />Definition <br />To perform a wide variety of difficult and responsible clerical duties, with <br />specific emphasis on procedures associated with federal and state grant <br />applications and real estate lending. This position will work directly with <br />staff involved in the administration of a federal grant (Community <br />Development Block Grant) and the operation of a housing rehabilitation <br />program. <br /> <br />Distinguishing Characteristics <br />This position is expected to exercise considerable initiative and judgement. <br />The incumbent will be expected to solve most work problems independently and <br />to refer to supervisory personnel only those matters which involve policy <br />decisions, technical questions and unusual public relations problems. <br /> <br />Supervision Received <br />Receives general supervision from the Housing and Redevelopment Director. <br />and reports to the Housing Coordinator. <br /> <br />Examples of Duties <br />Duties may include, but are not limited to the following: <br />r <br /> <br />Type material of a confidential nature consisting of letters, <br />minutes,reports, memoranda, and other materials from rough draft, <br />notes or machine recordings. <br /> <br />Act as receptionist; answer the telephone and wait on the general <br />public, giving information on department policies and procedures. <br /> <br />Maintain complex files, assemble material and type financial or <br />statistical statements, requisitions, bills and other forms <br />requiring the use of initiative and independent judgement. <br /> <br />Perform a wide variety of clerical work including filing and <br />billing. <br /> <br />Check reports, records and other data for accuracy, completeness <br />and compliance with established standards. <br /> <br />Type and proofread specialized documents including, <br />- Construction specifications <br />- Notes and deeds of trust <br />- Escrow instructions <br />- Other real estate loan documents <br />- Federal. state and county grant applications <br />
