<br />DES:djk 10/10/88 (#008/24) <br />OCT 24 1988 <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />10924 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING PURCHASE OF MOBILE COMPUTER UNITS <br />AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF PURCHASE DOCUMENTS <br />THEREFOR <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 2.76 of the <br /> <br />Redwood City Code, this Council has, by motion duly made and <br /> <br />carried, suspended the requirements of Article VII of Chapter 2 <br />of said Code (relating to public bidding requirements) for the <br /> <br />purchase of mobile computer units for the Police Department, <br /> <br />having found that strict compliance with said Article would not <br /> <br />serve the public interest; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there has been presented to, and reviewed by, this <br /> <br />Council a proposal for the sale to the City of Redwood City of 18 <br /> <br />"Mobile-Mac" computers from Colby Systems Corporation of Fresno, <br /> <br />California; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said equipment is of a unique nature and only <br /> <br />available from said Colby System Corporation; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. Purchase of 18 "Mobile-Mac" computers from Colby <br /> <br />Systems Corporation of Fresno, California conforming to the <br /> <br />specifications submitted by said Company is hereby approved; <br /> <br />provided, however, that the total cost of said purchase shall not <br /> <br />exceed $39,970. <br /> <br />10924 <br />
