<br />DES:d~~ 02/03/89 (029/24) <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N o. 10983 <br /> <br />OI\IGll~AL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR FE B 1 3 1989 <br />SAN MATEO COUNTY, 1989 EDITION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Nejedly-Z'berg Dills Solid Waste Management and <br /> <br />Resource Recovery Act of 1972 <br /> <br />(Govt. C. ~66700 et seq.; <br /> <br />hereinafter referred to as the II Act") requires each County in <br /> <br />cooperation with affected local jurisdictions, to prepare a <br /> <br />comprehensive, coordinated Solid Waste Management Plan consistent <br /> <br />with State policy; and <br />WHEREAS, said Act also requires that the County Solid Waste <br /> <br />Management Plan shall be subject to the approval by a majority of <br /> <br />the cities within the County which contain a majority of the <br /> <br />population of the incorporated area of the County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the County Board of Supervisors on November 21, <br /> <br />1978, adopted Resolution No. 39247 assigning the responsibility <br /> <br />of reviewing amendments to and updates of the San Mateo County <br /> <br />Solid Waste Management Plan to the Regional Planning Committee; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Regional Planning Committee established a Solid <br /> <br />Waste Advisory Committee consisting of representatives from each <br /> <br />city, scavenger industry, general public and County staff <br /> <br />elements; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a revised Solid Waste Management Plan for San Mateo <br /> <br />in conformance with the Act has now been completed through joint <br /> <br />efforts of the County and the Solid Waste Advisory Committee; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on February 13, 1989, the plan has been submitted <br /> <br />to this Council for approval; <br /> <br />10983 <br />
