<br />9 <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />REPORT <br /> <br />TO THE HONORABLE <br />MAYOR AND CITY COUNCil <br /> <br />\ ' <br />'----- <br /> <br />..OM THE CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />August 21, 1988 <br /> <br />Mayor Greenalch and Members of the city Council <br /> <br />Subject: RECORDS RETENTION SCHEDULE <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Adopt the resolution establishing retention schedule for records listed in the <br />attached exhibit. <br /> <br />SUMMARY <br /> <br />From time to time inactive records are sent to the Records Center to be retained <br />for the period required by law, if such a requirement exists, or for the period <br />which experience suggests is desirable. No records are destroyed without review <br />by the,relevant department, but the schedule provides a review date beyond which <br />records will not be retained without some action.
