Council Member Jordan responded that she would be making a presentation at a future <br /> Council meeting, but that she had been nominated to go with a group of 25-40 year-old <br /> elected or appointed officials nominated by Ruben Barralas. The group is funded by the <br /> State Department and some corporations to send upcoming leaders out into the world to <br /> see other cultures and meet with legislators from other countries. <br /> <br />REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY MEETING (SEE SEPARATE MINUTES) <br /> <br />9. STAFF REPORTS - <br /> <br /> A. Establishment of Rules and Regulations for Administration of Waterways of the <br /> City of Redwood City; <br /> <br /> Police Sergeant Blanc stated that the City and the Port have worked collaboratively for <br /> the past five years to facilitate removal of dozens of abandoned and derelict vessels and <br /> miscellaneous debris from the waterways of Redwood City. He stated the proposed <br /> ordinance will provide the necessary tools to maintain the waterways in four significant <br /> areas. The key areas are boat speed limits, depositing of waste mater or other pollutants <br /> into the harbor, abandoned vessels and overnight mooring without a permit. Sergeant <br /> Blanc recognized Council Member Howard and members of the Aqua Terra Committee <br /> present in the audience: Bob Hoffman, Officer Bruce McKay and John Harp. <br /> <br /> Council Member Howard thanked City Attorney's Office, Aqua Terra, the Port <br /> Commission and the Police Department for working through the process. <br /> <br /> Public Comment: <br /> Bob Hoffman congratulated Council, the Police Department and the Chair of Aqua <br /> Terra. He stated that if the ordinance is not enacted the waterways will go back to a <br /> graffiti status, He urged the adoption of thc ordinance to supply to Police Department <br /> with the necessary tools to keep the waterways clean. <br /> <br /> Council Members expressed acknowledgement to all those who have contributed to the <br /> development of this ordinance. <br /> <br /> M/S Hartnett/Ira to introduce an ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 44 TO THE <br /> REDWOOD CITY CODE REGARDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF RULES AND <br /> REGULATIONS FOR THE ADMINSTRATION OF THE HARBOR. <br /> <br /> The motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote. <br /> <br /> B.
