<br />01/11/2010 <br /> <br />D. If the City posts or removes the signs, the Permittee will be charged for City staff <br />time. <br /> <br />E. Barricades may be placed near the corner of the intersection to be closed no <br />more than thirty-six (36) hours before the event. All barricades shall be neatly <br />stacked and not obstruct pedestrian movement at the intersection nor visibility <br />from vehicles before the event. <br /> <br />F. If the City delivers and/or picks up the barricades, the Permittee will be charged <br />for City staff time. <br /> <br />G. Final placements of barricades are subject to approval and may be moved at the <br />sole discretion of the Police Department. <br /> <br />H. No permanent barricades to impede upon Fire Department access. <br /> <br />Section 7: POLICE AND PRIVATE SECURITY <br /> <br />A. Permittee's must submit a security plan for the proposed event and receive <br />approval of the Redwood City Police Department. The approval of the Redwood <br />City Police Department will be based on, but not limited to the following: type of <br />function; service of alcohol, if applicable; traffic control requirements; the number <br />of attendees; anticipated security issues and the history of security issues at the <br />same or similar event in prior years, if applicable. The Permittee's plan must list <br />the proposed number of security personnel, their location, duties, hours of <br />service, contact information for the day of the event and whether they are <br />Redwood City police officers or private security personnel. Permittees are <br />responsible for all costs associated with security. <br /> <br />1. The purpose of Police presence during events is to ensure public safety, keep <br />the peace, and enforce relevant laws, codes and ordinances. More common <br />duties include traffic direction and enforcement of event-specific conditions. <br /> <br />2. Private security performed by the Permittee will include checking IDs to <br />prevent under-aged drinking, collecting tickets at the entry and other <br />appropriate tasks to promote order during the event. Private security must be <br />licensed and insured and provide the same indemnity agreement insurance <br />documentation as the Permittee pursuant to Attachment II. <br /> <br />3. An appropriate balance between Police and private security, including staffing <br />levels will be determined by the City. <br /> <br />4. A contact person representing the Permittee must be at the event for its entire <br />duration, and must have a copy of the Event Permit available for review. <br /> <br />Page 10 of21 <br /> <br />Admin.
