ORDINANCE NO. 2357 REPEALING CURRENT CHAPTER 16 AND ADDING A NEW CHAPTER 16 TO THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE liBRARY BOARD THE COUNCil OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOllOWS: SECTION 1. Chapter 16, consisting of Ordinances Nos. 30, 902, and 1131, specifically Sections 16.1 through 16.5 of the Redwood City Municipal Code, is repealed in its entirety. SECTION 2. Chapter 16, Sections 16.1 through 16.9 are hereby added to the Redwood City Municipal Code follows

<br />08/23/2010 <br /> <br />F. Act as an advocate for legislation and funding that will help meet <br />identified needs of the community and Library, <br />G. Enthusiastically represent the Library at the community and <br />regional level, <br />H. Review and comment on the Library Director's proposed budget <br />prior to submission to the City Manager and City Council, <br />I. Appoint, chair and disband committees as needed, to study issues <br />to the extent and purpose defined by the Library Board, <br />J. Provide advice on matters assigned by the City Council, <br />K. Make recommendations to the Library Director and/or City Manager <br />pertaining to the disposition of major gifts of money, personal <br />property and real property to the City to be used for Library <br />purposes, <br />L. Provide input regarding the construction and renovation of capital <br />facilities. <br /> <br />Personnel policies and decisions shall not be within the duties or responsibilities <br />of the Library Board. <br /> <br />Sec. 16.8. MEETINGS: <br />Regular meetings of the Library Board shall be held once a month. All meetings <br />shall be open to the public. Four of the seven members shall constitute a <br />quorum. The Library Board may establish rules and procedures governing the <br />conduct of its meetings. Meetings will provide a forum for public discussion of <br />Library needs and facilitate communication between community, staff and City <br />Council. <br /> <br />Sec. 16.9. FUNDING; USE OF CITY PROPERTY: <br />The City Council shall make annual appropriations, and allow the use of such <br />City property, real and personal, as the Council may deem necessary for the <br />purpose of carrying on the activities of the Library Board. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. Effective Date.
