01/24/2011 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2360 <br /> ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLES IV, VI, VII, AND VIII OF <br /> CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; <br /> AMENDING ARTICLES II AND IX; AND ADDING ARTICLES IV, VI, VII, <br /> AND VIII OF CHAPTER 9 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF REGULATIONS AND <br /> STANDARDS FOR BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE <br /> FOLLOWING CODES: "THE CALIFORNIA BUILDING CODE, 2010 <br /> EDITION; THE CALIFORNIA RESIDENTIAL CODE, 2010 EDITION; <br /> THE INTERNATIONAL PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE, 2009 <br /> EDITION "; "THE CALIFORNIA MECHANICAL CODE, 2010 EDITION "; <br /> "THE CALIFORNIA PLUMBING CODE, 2010 EDITION "; AND "THE <br /> CALIFORNIA ELECTRICAL CODE, 2010 EDITION" <br /> THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. Articles IV, VI, VII, and VIII of Chapter 9 of the Redwood City Municipal <br /> Code are hereby repealed. <br /> SECTION 2. Sections 9.5(A)(12) and 9.15 of Article II of Chapter 9 of the Redwood City <br /> Municipal Code are hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> "Sec. 9.5. DEFINITIONS: For purpose of this Article, the following words <br /> and phrases shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this <br /> Section: <br /> 12. Whenever any building or structure has been constructed, exists or is <br /> maintained in violation of any specific requirement or prohibition applicable to <br /> such building or structure provided by the building regulations of this City, as <br /> specified in the California Building Code, 2010 Edition, California Residential <br /> Code, 2010 Edition, International Property Maintenance Code, 2009 Edition, or of <br /> any law or ordinance of this State or City relating to the condition, location or <br /> structure of buildings. <br /> Sec. 9.15. EFFECT ON BUILDING CODE: The provisions of this Article shall be <br /> construed as an alternative procedure to the procedure for the elimination of unsafe <br /> buildings set forth in Section 116 of the Building Code adopted by Section 9.40." <br /> SECTION 3.
