ORDINANCE NO. 2390 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AMENDING CHAPTER 29 STREETS, SIDEWALKS AND DRIVEWAYS OF THE REDWOOD CITY MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING ENGINEERING STANDARDS, WORK IN THE PUBLIC RIGHTS- OF-WAY AND REPAIR OF SIDEWALKS NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The following constitutes the Council's findings. A. The City of Redwood City has the responsibility to manage the maintenance of sidewalks, roads, streets and rights-of-way in the City to preserve the operational safety, integrity, and function of the City's transportation system; and

01/28/2013 <br /> twenty-nine feet (29') in width between the tops of ramps at the ends of driveway <br /> approaches, whichever is the lesser. In case of more than one driveway <br /> approach in front of any parcel, the total width of driveway approaches shall not <br /> exceed the sixty percent (60%) of frontage hereinbefore mentioned; and there <br /> shall be twenty-two feet (22') or a multiple thereof of standard curb, gutter and <br /> sidewalk between such driveway approaches; provided that the City Engineer <br /> may approve a distance between driveway approaches which is not a multiple of <br /> twenty two-feet (22') if he finds that: <br /> • The proposed driveway approaches are in compliance with all <br /> zoning regulations; and <br /> • No driveway approach shall be situated closer than fifteen feet (15') <br /> from the terminus of the curb return at the nearest intersecting <br /> point. <br /> Sec. 29.30. Residential Driveway Approaches. <br /> A. The locations and dimensions of driveway approaches to all real property <br /> situated in any residentially zoned district shall conform to the following: <br /> 1. No driveway approach to off-street parking spaces required by the <br /> Zoning Ordinance shall be constructed which does not serve a garage or <br /> carport located to the rear boundary (building setback line) of the front <br /> yard required by the zoning ordinance. <br /> 2. The width measured between the tops of the ramps at the on-site <br /> terminus of the driveway approaches serving the hereinafter specified <br /> garage, carport or parking space facilities shall not exceed the <br /> dimensions respectively specified therefor: <br /> a. Single garage, carport or parking space—twelve feet (12'); <br /> b. Two (2) motor-vehicle garage, carport or parking space—twenty- <br /> three feet (23') <br /> c. Three (3) or more motor-vehicle garage, carport or parking space— <br /> thirty feet (30'). <br /> 3. The total width of all driveway approaches serving any parcel shall not <br /> exceed sixty percent (60%) of the street frontage of the parcel. <br /> 4. The separation between the driveway approaches serving the same <br /> parcel of property shall be not less than twenty-two feet (22') or a <br /> multiple thereof. <br /> B. Notwithstanding the above provisions of subdivision A, the City Engineer <br /> may approve exceptions upon finding that: <br /> 1. The use of the parcel of property to which the driveway approach <br /> provides access shall be benefitted by granting the exception; <br /> 2.
