ORDINANCE NO. 2390 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AMENDING CHAPTER 29 STREETS, SIDEWALKS AND DRIVEWAYS OF THE REDWOOD CITY MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING ENGINEERING STANDARDS, WORK IN THE PUBLIC RIGHTS- OF-WAY AND REPAIR OF SIDEWALKS NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The following constitutes the Council's findings. A. The City of Redwood City has the responsibility to manage the maintenance of sidewalks, roads, streets and rights-of-way in the City to preserve the operational safety, integrity, and function of the City's transportation system; and

01/28/2013 <br /> Sec. 29.5. Permit Requirements in Other Chapters. <br /> The requirements of and process for permits regarding the following <br /> encroachments is set forth in the chapters listed below: <br /> A. Permits for Newsstands shall be applied for, processed and governed by the <br /> provisions of Chapter 43 of this Code. <br /> B. Permits for Special Events, Block Parties and other Temporary Uses as <br /> defined in Chapter 33A, including but not limited to, Use of Downtown <br /> Sidewalk Cafe Area (as defined in Section 33A.15) and for Temporary Use of <br /> Courthouse Square (as defined in Section 33A.37) shall be applied for, <br /> processed and governed by the provisions of Chapter 33A of this Code. <br /> C. Permits for Signs on Public Property, including banners, shall be applied for, <br /> processed and governed by the provisions of Chapter 3 of this Code. <br /> D. Permits for Temporary Exclusive Use of Park Buildings or Recreational Areas <br /> shall be applied for, processed and governed by the provisions of Chapter 25 <br /> of this Code. <br /> E. Permits to cut, trim, prune, remove or plant trees on both private property and <br /> on public streets and public ways shall be applied for, processed and <br /> governed by the provisions of Chapter 35 of this Code. <br /> F. Permits for encroachments and use of the Harbor (as defined in section 44.2 <br /> of this Code) and the Port Area (as defined in the Redwood City Charter) <br /> shall be applied for, processed and governed by the provisions of Chapter 44 <br /> of this Code and the Ordinances and Regulations of the Port Authority. <br /> G. Permits for all other encroachments and use of right-of-way or City property <br /> shall be applied for, processed and governed by the provisions of this <br /> chapter. <br /> H. Notwithstanding any other provision in this Municipal Code, a state franchise <br /> holder (as defined in Section 11.74 of this Code) shall apply for and obtain a <br /> permit in accordance with the provisions of this Chapter 29 prior to occupying <br /> or commencing any work or use of a right-of-way or City property. <br /> Sec. 29.6. Application. <br /> A. The Department shall prescribe and provide a regular form of application for <br /> permits required by this chapter. The application shall show such information <br /> and details as the Department deems necessary to establish the exact <br /> location, nature, dimensions, duration and purpose of the proposed use or <br /> encroachment. <br /> B. The application shall be accompanied by construction plans, engineered <br /> designs, maps, sketches, diagrams or similar exhibits as required by the <br /> ATTY/ORD.377/AMENDING CHAPTER 29 STREETS,SIDEWALKS AND DRIVEWAYS ORD.#2390 <br /> REV:01-22-13 PT FORMERLY MUFF#305 <br /> Page 7 of 28 <br />
