The City Council makes the following findings: <br /> 1. Pursuant to the Redwood City Community Benefit Improvement District <br /> Procedural Ordinance (Chapter 31 of the Redwood City Municipal Code) (the <br /> "Procedural Ordinance"), which incorporates most of the provisions of the <br /> Property and Business Improvement District Law of 1994 (Streets and Highways <br /> Code Section 36600 et seq.) (the "Law"), the City Council is authorized to form <br /> Community Benefit Improvement Districts to fund certain activities and <br /> improvements through the levy of a benefit assessment against properties that <br /> specially benefit from those activities and improvements; and <br /> 2. The City Council received a petition to form a Community Benefit Improvement <br /> District to be designated as the Downtown Redwood City Community <br /> Benefit Improvement District (the "CBID"); and <br /> 3. On June 9, 2014, the City Council �dopted its Resolution No. 15347, titled "A <br /> Resolution of the City Council of the City Of Redwood City Declaring Its Intention <br /> to Form the Downtown Redwood City Community Benefit Improvement District <br /> Pursuant to the Redwood City Community Benefit Improvement District <br /> Procedural Ordinance and Setting a Time and Place For a Public Hearing in <br /> Connection Therewith" (the "Resolution of Intention"); and <br /> ATTY/ORD.404/CBID FORMATION ORD ORD.#2408 <br /> REV:07-16-14 PT MUFF#506 <br /> Page i of 4 <br />
