ORDINANCE NO. 2410 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AMENDING CHAPTER 41 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO FLOODPLAIN MANAGEMENT NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council adopts the following findings: A. The Federal Emergency Administration (FEMA) produces Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) and manages the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), of which the City of Redwood City is a participant; and

The City Council adopts the following findings: <br /> A. The Federal Emergency Administration (FEMA) produces Flood Insurance <br /> Rate Maps (FIRMs) and manages the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), of <br /> which the City of Redwood City is a participant; and <br /> B. As part of the NFIP, FEMA conducts periodic Community Assistance Visit <br /> (CA� with member communities to assess the effectiveness of local floodplain <br /> management ordinances and enforcement practices; and <br /> C. On August 6, 2014 FEMA representative met with the City Engineer (the <br /> designated floodplain administrator) and staff to review the program and the City's <br /> Ordinance; and <br /> D. A required action resulting from the CAV is to amend the City's Floodplain <br /> Management Ordinance to bring it up to date with the model ordinance provided by <br /> FEMA; and <br /> E. This ordinance amendment is a prerequisite for continual participation in the <br /> NFIP. <br /> Section 2. The Redwood City Municipal Code is hereby amended as shown in <br /> the following Sections by adding the text shown in underlined italics (example) and <br /> deleting the text shown in strikeout (e�a�le).
