ORDINANCE NO ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, VIII AND ARTICLE IX, DIVISIONS 1, 2 AND 3 OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; ADDING ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, VIII AND ARTICLE IX, DIVISIONS 1 AND 2 OF CHAPTER 9 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE FOLLOWING CODES: "THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE 1997 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM BUILDING SECURITY CODE, 1997 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM HOUSING CODE, 1997 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 2000 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 2000 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM ADMINISTRATIVE CODE PROVISIONS FOR THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1996 EDITION"; "THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1999 EDITION"; AND "THE UNIFORM CODE FOR BUILDING CONSERVATION, 1997 EDITION

(2) The Uniform Building Security Code, 1997 Edition, as published by <br /> the International Conference of Building Officials. <br /> <br /> (3) The Uniform Code for Building Conservation, 1997 Edition, as <br /> published by the International Conference of Building Officials. <br /> <br /> B. In the event of any conflict between the provisions of the Uniform Building <br /> Code, 1997 Edition, hereinafter referred to as the Building Code, the <br /> Uniform Building Security Code and/or the Uniform Code for Building <br /> Conservation and the provisions of this Chapter, the provisions of this <br /> Chapter shall apply." <br /> <br /> Sec. 9.41. SECTION 105 OF THE BUILDING CODE DELETED: Section 105 of <br />the Building Code is hereby deleted and shall have no force or effect in the City. <br /> <br /> Sec. 9.42. SECTION 107.2 OF THE BUILDING CODE AMENDED: Section <br />107.2 of the Building Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 107.2 Permit Fees and Valuation of Work. <br /> <br /> Section 107.2.1 Building Fees. The Building Official shall charge a fee to the <br /> person filing an application for such permit, such fee to be established by <br /> resolution of the Council. <br /> <br /> Section 107.2.2 Valuation of Work. The determination of value or valuation <br /> under any of the provisions of this code shall be made by the Building Official. <br /> The value to be used in computing the building permit and building plan review <br /> fees shall be the total value of all construction work for which the permit is issued <br /> as well as all finish work, painting, roofing, electrical, plumbing, heating, air <br /> conditioning, elevators, fire extinguishing systems and any other permanent <br /> equipment. <br /> <br /> Section 107.2.3 Code Compliance Inspection. Applications submitted to the <br /> Building Division requesting inspection for the purpose of determining <br /> compliance with City Building, Housing, Plumbing, Electrical, and Mechanical <br /> Codes shall be accompanied by a nonrefundable fee for such service as <br /> established by resolution of the City Council. <br /> <br /> Sec. 9.43 SECTION 213 OF THE BUILDING CODE AMENDED: Section 213 of <br />the Building Code is hereby amended to add the following definition: <br /> <br /> Section 213 Light-Frame Construction.
