07/23/2007 ORIGINAL ORDINANCE NO. 2313 ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE VII OF CHAPTER 20 OF THE REDWOOD CITY MUNICIPAL CODE "MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC" THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Article Seven (VII) (Stopping, Standing and Parking) of Chapter 20 (Motor Vehicles and Traffic) of the Redwood City Municipal Code is hereby modified by adding Section 20.96.1 to read as follows: Sec. 20.96.1. PARKING OF VEHICLES WITH A GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT RATING OF MORE THAN 5,000 POUNDS FOR MORE THAN TWO CONSECUTIVE HOURS PROHIBITED; REMOVAL BY POLICE: A. When signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person who owns or has possession, custody, or control of any vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating of more than 5,000 pounds shall park or leave standing such vehicle upon the street for more than a consecutive period of two (2) hours. This limitation on parking shall be effective twenty-four (24) hours daily. B. In the event a vehicle is parked or left standing upon a street segment, posted with a limited parking sign as stated above, in excess of a consecutive period of two (2) hours, any member of the Police Department authorized by the Chief of Police may remove the vehicle from the street or highway in the manner and subject to the requirements of section 22650 et seq., of the Vehicle Code of the State. For purposes of this Section, a vehicle shall be deemed parked or left standing if it has not been moved at least two-tenths (0.20) of a mile within the aforesaid two (2) hour period. C.
