ORDINANCE NO. 2325 ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLES XIV OF CHAPTER 18 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR THE PLANNED EXTENSION AND REPAIR OF UTILITY AND STREET IMPROVEMENTS; ADDING ARTICLE VI OF CHAPTER 38 RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF WATER MAIN UPGRADE STANDARDS THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Sections 18.235 and 18.236 of Article XIV of Chapter 18 of the Redwood City Municipal Code are hereby amended to read as follows: "Sec. 18.235. DEFINITIONS: For the purposes of this Article, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings respectively ascribed

01/15/2008 <br /> In addition, regardless of the level and size of development and remodeling, a <br /> minimum eight inch (8") diameter water main shall be constructed from the <br /> nearest point of connection of an existing water main six inch (6") diameter or <br /> greater size through the entire street frontage if: (1) the existing water main, <br /> regardless of size, does not provide adequate flows and pressures to support the <br /> additional growth for fire protection, fire suppression, and domestic use purposes <br /> as determined by the City according to the City Standards; and 2) a fire hydrant <br /> is required and the existing water main is less than six inch (6") in diameter. <br /> Refer to Section 18.235 for definitions of terms used in this section." <br /> SECTION 3. If any section, paragraph, sentence or word of this ordinance <br /> hereby adopted should for any reason, be found invalid, it is intended that all <br /> other portions of this ordinance independent of any such portion as may be <br /> declared invalid shall be valid. <br /> SECTION 4.
