2016 MAY 07 1990 --------- ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLE V OF CHAPTER 32 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND ADDING ARTICLE V (COMMENCING WITH SECTION 32.101) TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO BUSINESS LICENSE TAXES THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION l. Article V (conunencing with Section 32.101), entitled "Business Licenses", of Chapter 32 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby repealed. SECTION 2. Article V (conunencing with Section 32.101) is hereby added to the Code of the City of Redwood City to read as follows: "ARTICLE V. BUSINESS LICENSES

For the purposes of this <br />article, the Director is empowered to administer oaths. " <br /> "DIVISION 4. EXEMPTIONS AND EXCLUSIONS <br /> "Section 32.130. Constitutional, Statutory Exemptions. <br />Nothing contained in this article shall be deemed or <br />construed to require the payment of any business license tax <br />prescribed in this article, by any person transacting, <br />engaging in, or carrying on any business which is exempt <br />from the payment of such taxes under the Constitution or <br />statutes of the United States, or the Constitution or <br />statutes of the State of California." <br /> "Section 32.131. Charitable Organizations. Nothing <br />contained in this article shall be deemed or construed to <br />require the payment of any of business license tax <br />prescribed in this article by any institution or <br />organization which is conducted, managed or carried on <br />wholly for the benefit of charitable purposes and from which <br />profit is not derived, either directly or indirectly by any <br />person. " <br /> "Section 32.132. Disabled Veterans. Nothing contained <br />in this article shall be deemed or construed to require the <br />payment of any business license tax prescribed in this <br />article by any person who is an honorably discharged or <br />released veteran specified in Section 16001 of the Business <br />and Professions Code of the State of California, as said <br /> 18 <br /> 2 OJ 6 <br /> _..........-- <br />
