2021 ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 40.5 OF THE REDWOOD CITY CODE RELATING TO THE POWERS OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY WITH RESPECT TO APPROVAL OF HISTORICAL PROPERTY CONTRACTS THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 40.5 of the Code of the City of Redwood City, California, is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 40.5. The Commission shall have the following powers and duties: " (a) Establish criteria for, conduct, and keep current a comprehensive survey and register of historic and cultural resources within the boundaries of the city

<br /> DES:djk --:;/21/90 (004/9) <br /> " (g) Approve or disapprove, in whole or in part, <br /> applications for permits pursuant to this chapter. <br /> " (h) Cooperate with local, county, state and federal <br /> governments in the pursuit of the objectives of <br /> historic preservation. <br /> "(i) Render advice and guidance, upon the request of <br /> the owner or occupant of the property affected, on <br /> the restoration, alteration, decoration, <br /> landscaping or maintenance of any historic or <br /> cultural resource including a landmark, landmark <br /> site, historic district, or property in the <br /> vicinity of the foregoing within public view <br /> thereof. <br /> .. (j ) Participate in, promote, and conduct public <br /> information, educational, and interpretive <br /> programs pertaining to historic and cultural <br /> resources. <br /> " (k) Review, and make recommendations to the city <br /> council regarding, applications for, and the <br /> administration of, historical property contracts <br /> submitted, or entered into, pursuant to the <br /> provisions of Article 12 (commencing with Section <br /> 50280) ,Chapter 1, Part 1 , Division 1, Title 5, of <br /> the Government Code. <br /> .. (1) Perform such other duties and exercise such other <br /> powers as may be specified by the city council. <br />The commission shall consider the recommendations of the <br />committee before taking any action pursuant to this section." <br />SECTION 2.
