Description
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 12 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; ADDING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 12 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO FIRE PREVENTION; AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE "UNIFORM FIRE CODE, 1988 EDITION", AS PUBLISHED BY THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF BUILDING OFFICIALS AND THE WESTERN FIRE CHIEFS ASSOCIATION THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Article II (commencing at 12.7) of Chapter 12 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby repealed. SECTION 2. Article II (commencing at 12.7) is hereby added to Chapter 12 of the Code of the City of Redwood City, to read as follows

<br /> FXS:dft l/29/90R (002/9) <br /> FXS:dft L2/04/90R <br /> Whenever the Chief or the Fire Marshal shall disapprove <br />an application or refuse to grant a license or permit <br />applied for under the provisions of this chapter or revoke <br />such license or permit after granting the same or when it is <br />claimed that the provisions of the Fire Code do not apply or <br />that the true intent and meaning of the Code have been <br />misconstrued or wrongly interpreted, the applicant may <br />appeal to the Council from the decision of the Chief or the <br />Fire Marshal within ten (10 ) days from the date of the <br />decision of the Chief or the Fire Marshal. The decision of <br />the Council on such appeal shall be final. <br /> Section 12.27. New materials, processes, occupancies <br />requiring permits. <br /> The City Manager, Chief and the Fire Marshal shall act <br />as a committee to determine and specify, after giving <br />affected persons an opportunity to be heard, any new <br />materials, processes or occupancies, which shall require <br />permits, in addition to those now enumerated in the Fire <br />Code. <br /> Section 12.28. Violations; penalty. <br /> (a) Any person, firm or corporation, whether as <br />principal, agent, employee, or otherwise, who shall violate <br />or cause the violation of any of the provisions of the Fire <br />Code adopted by Section 12.7 and as amended by this Article, <br />or fail to comply with any order, license, or permit made or <br />issued thereunder, or who shall build in violation of any <br />detailed statement of specifications or plans submitted and <br /> 17 <br /> ..,-......"..>-.. <br />
