ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2.55 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE DISPOSITION OF UNCLAIMED PROPERTY TO ALLOW FOR THE USE OF UNCLAIMED BICYCLES OR TOYS IN PROGRAMS FOR THE PREVENTION OF JUVENILE DELINQUENCY THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 2.55 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 2.55. Disposition of Property Not Covered by Section 2.54. Except as provided in Section 2.54, unclaimed property in the possession of the police department shall be disposed of as follows

<br /> DES:djk 06/04/91 (010/9) <br /> (3 ) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection <br /> (a) hereof governing the retention of <br /> bicycles and the foregoing provisions of this <br /> subsection (b) , bicycles or toys which have <br /> been unclaimed for a period of at least sixty <br /> (60) days may be relinquished to a probation <br /> officer, the welfare department of the County <br /> of San Mateo, or to any charitable or <br /> non-profi t. organization which is authorized <br /> under its art.icles of incorporation to <br /> participate in a program or activity designed <br /> to prevent juvenile delinquency and which is <br /> exempt. from income taxation under federal or <br /> state law, or both, for use in any program or <br /> act.ivi ty designed to prevent juvenile <br /> delinquency." <br />SECTION 2.
