ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AMENDMENT TO CONTRACT BETWEEN THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION OF THE CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM, RELATING TO BENEFITS PERTAINING TO LOCAL FIRE MEMBERS THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That certain amendment to the contract between the Council of the City of Redwood City and the Board of Administration, California Public Employees' Retirement System, in the form of Exhibit "A", attached hereto, and by this reference incorporated herein, is hereby approved. <br /> ÞlEASE DO NOT SIGN "EXHIBIT ONl'f1 <br />4. In addition to the classes of employees excluded from membership by said Retirement Law, <br /> the following classes of employees shall not become members of said Retirement System: <br /> NO ADDITIONAL EXCLUSIONS <br />5. The percentage of final compensation to be provided for each year of credited prior and <br /> current service as a local miscellaneous member shall be determined in accordance with <br /> Section 21251.13 of said Retirement Law (2 % at age 60 Full). <br />6. The percentage of final compensation to be provided for each year of credited prior and <br /> current service as a local safety member shall be determined in accordance with Section <br /> 21252.01 of said Retirement Law (2% at age 50 Full). <br />7. Public Agency elected to be subject to the following optional provisions: <br /> a. Sections 21380-21387 (1959 Survivor Benefits) excluding Section 21382.2 (Increased <br /> 1959 Survivor Benefits) and Section 21382.4 (Third Level of 1959 Survivor <br /> Benefits) . <br /> b. Sections 21263/21263.1 (post-Retirement Survivor Allowance) for local safety <br /> members only. <br /> c. Section 20020 ("Local Police Officer" shall include employees of a police <br /> department who were employed to perform identification or communication duties on <br /> August 4, 1972 and who elected to be local safety members). <br /> d. Section 21222.1 (Special 5% Increase - 1970). Legislation repealed said Section <br /> effective January 1, 1980. <br /> e. Section 21222.2 (Special 5% Increase - 1971). Legislation repealed said Section <br /> effective January 1, 1980. <br /> f. Section 21222.85 (Special 3% - 15% Increase) for or on behalf of those local <br /> miscellaneous members and local safety members who retired or died prior to <br /> January 1, 1974. <br /> g. Section 21222.86 (Special 1 % - 7% Increase) for or on behalf of those local <br /> miscellaneous members and local safety members who retired or died prior to July <br /> 1, 1974. <br />
