ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 42 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO CERTAIN RESIDENTIAL RELOCATION BENEFITS FOR DISPLACEMENT CAUSED BY NON-RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT AND CODE ENFORCEMENT THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION l. Chapter 42 is hereby added to the Code of Redwood City to read as follows: "Chapter 42. RESIDENTIAL RELOCATION BENEFITS "Section 42.1. Findings. The Council of Redwood City finds and declares as follows: (a) Pursuant to Government Code Section 65580, the Legislature of the State of California

<br /> DES: dfi /21/92R (004/11) <br /> 4/27/92R <br />subdivision (a) of this section in contemplation of <br />development of the Affected Property: <br /> (i) A basic payment of Five Hundred Dollars <br /> ($500.00) for the costs of moving and <br /> storage; and <br /> (ii) A replacement housing payment, not to <br /> exceed One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars <br /> ($1,500), for a twelve (12) month period <br /> equal to the difference between the rent <br /> paid for the dwelling unit on the Affected <br /> Property and the rental (if higher) for the <br /> displaced person's or family's replacement <br /> dwelling unit. <br /> (e) Compliance with the provisions of this Section <br />shall be a condition to the issuance of any permit for the <br />Non-Residential Development of the Affected Property, or of <br />any other entitlement to facilitate such development. <br /> "Section 42.5. Code Enforcement. (a) Notice to <br />Tenants. The Director shall, in cooperation with the <br />Building Official in carrying out his or her responsibil- <br />ities for Code Enforcement, give written notice to tenants <br />of dwelling units on or within Affected Property which is <br />the subject of Code Enforcement of their rights under this <br />Chapter. Said notice shall be served personally or by mail, <br />first class or equivalent postage pre-paid, addressed to the <br /> 7 <br />
