ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, VIII AND DIVISIONS 2 AND 3 OF ARTICLE IX OF CHAPTER 9 AND CHAPTER 31 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; ADDING ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, VIII AND DIVISION 2 OF ARTICLE IX OF CHAPTER 9 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE FOLLOWING CODES: "THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1991 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE STANDARDS, 1991 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM BUILDING SECURITY CODE, 1991 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM HOUSING CODE, 1991 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 1991 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1991 EDITION"; AND "THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1990 EDITION" THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. <br /> FXS:dft S. )/92 (009/11) <br /> 9/14/92R <br />this code are hereby declared to be public nuisances <br />and shall be abated by repair, rehabilitation, <br />demolition or removal in accordance with the procedure <br />specified in Article II of Chapter 9 of the Code of the <br />City of Redwood City. '" <br />"Section 9.62. Section 203 of the Housing Code is <br />hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> "'Section 203. The Building Inspector is hereby <br />authorized and empowered to designate representatives <br />of the San Mateo County Department of Health to act as <br />his representatives in investigating violations of, and <br />enforcing any provision of, the code relating to <br />inadequate light, air or sanitation facilities, or any <br />other matter determined by the Health Officer as likely <br />to cause a building to be unsanitary, unfit for human <br />habitation or in such a condition that is likely to <br />cause sickness or disease. When so designated such <br />representatives shall have the same powers and duties <br />as the Building Inspector. All references in the code <br />to the 'Health Officer' shall be construed to be <br />references to representatives of the above-mentioned <br />Department of Health. '" <br />"Section 9.63. Chapters 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 of <br />the Housing Code are hereby deleted and shall have no force <br />and effect in the City." <br />"Section 9.64 - 9.69. Reserved." <br /> 6 <br />
