Description
ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AN UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT IN A PORTION OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; DESIGNATING SAID DISTRICT AS UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 1994-1; DESCRIBING THE BOUNDARIES OF SAID DISTRICT; ESTABLISHING WHAT UTILITY FACILITIES WILL BE MAINTAINED ABOVE GROUND; AND ESTABLISHING THE TIME BY WHICH POLES AND OVERHEAD WIRES SHALL BE REMOVED AND UNDERGROUND SERVICE PROVIDED

DES:djk 10/17/94 (025/9) <br /> DES:djk ~ 3/18/94R <br /> <br />overhead utilities, including existing service drops, and the <br />removal of all wood utility poles, overhead wires and associated <br />structures from all streets, roads, alleys or ways shall occur <br />within said district is hereby fixed as July 1, 1996. <br /> <br /> SECTION 6. Pursuant to Section 11.45(d) of the Code of the <br />City of Redwood City, the date by which all affected property <br />owners must provide for service from underground facilities is <br />fixed as 90 days prior to removal of all overhead utilities, <br />including existing service drops, wood utility poles, overhead <br />wires and associates structures. <br /> <br /> SECTION 7. Pursuant to Section 11.45(e) of the Code of the <br />City of Redwood City, the following facilities may be maintained <br />above ground: transformers, pedestal-mounted service terminals <br />and above grade splice boxes. <br /> <br /> SECTION 8. From and after the time fixed by Section 5 of <br />this ordinance, it shall be unlawful for any person, including <br />utility companies, to erect, maintain or operate any pole, <br />overhead wire or associated structure in any portion of any <br />street, road, alley or way within Underground Utility District <br />No. 1994-1. Violations of this section shall be a misdemeanor <br />punishable as provided in Section 1.7 of the Code of the City of <br />Redwood City. <br /> <br /> SECTION 9. The City Clerk shall give notice of the adoption <br />of this ordinance as provided by Section 11.47 of the Code of the <br />City of Redwood City and shall accompany said notiCe with a copy <br />of this ordinance. <br /> <br /> SECTION 10. This ordinance shall be effective 30 days from <br />the date of its adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
