! <br /> <br /> DES:djk ~/07/94 (026/9) <br /> <br /> 0 R I G I N A L 1/16/95 <br /> <br /> O R D I N A N C E N O. 2086 <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 20.44 AND 20.45 OF THE CODE <br /> OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ESTABLISHING THE PRIMA <br /> FACIE SPEED LIMIT FOR FERNSIDE STREET BETWEEN ALAMEDA <br /> DE LAS PULGAS AND HARCROSS ROAD AT 30 MILES PER HOUR <br /> AND BETWEEN HARCROSS ROAD AND McGARVEY AVENUE AT 25 <br /> MILES PER HOUR, RESPECTIVELY <br /> <br />THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. Section 20.44 of Chapter 20 of the Code of the <br />City of Redwood City is hereby amended to read as follow: <br />"Section 20.44. State Speed Limit Increased on Certain <br />Designated Streets. It is hereby determined upon the basis <br />of an engineering and traffic investigation that the speed <br />permitted by state law upon the following streets is less <br />than is necessary for safe operation of vehicles thereon by <br />reason of the designation and signposting of the streets or <br />through highways or by reason of widely spaced <br />intersections, and it is hereby declared that the prima <br />facie speed limit shall be as hereinafter set forth on those <br />streets or parts of streets herein designated when signs are <br />erected giving notice thereof: <br /> <br /> Name of Street or Declared Prima <br /> Portion Affected Facie Speed Limit <br /> <br /> "(1) Alameda de las Pulgas, between <br /> Brewster Avenue and northerly city <br /> limits ..................................... 30 mph <br /> <br /> "(2) Alameda de las Pulgas, between <br /> Woodside Road and Jefferson Avenue ......... 30 mph <br /> <br /> "(3) Arguello Street, between Broadway and <br /> "E" Street ................................. 30 mph <br /> <br /> <br />
