<br />'=- <br />ADMINISTRATOR: Means the City Manager. <br />APPROVED: Unless otherwise stated, shall mean approved by the Chief. <br />BOARD OF APPEALS: As used or appears in the Fire Code, means the City <br />Council. <br />CHIEF: Means the head of the Fire Department. <br />CHIEF OF THE BUREAU OF FIRE PREVENTION: Means the Fire Marshal. <br />CODE: Means the Uniform Fire Code, 1994 Edition, including Appendices I, II, <br />III, IV, V, VI-A, VI-B, VI-D, VI-E, VI-F, and VI-G. <br />MUNICIPALITY: Means the City. <br />"Section 12.9.1. Section 101.2 amended. <br />Section 101.2 of the Fire Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />Section 101.2. Scope. This Code prescribes regulations with nationally <br />recognized good practice for the safeguarding to a reasonable degree of life and <br />property from hazards of fire and explosion arising from the storage, handling <br />and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices, and from conditions <br />hazardous to life or property in the use or occupancy of buildings or premises. <br />The provisions of this code shall supplement any and all laws of the State of <br />California relating to fire safety and shall apply to all persons, firms, <br />corporations or entity without restriction, unless specifically excepted. <br />"Section 12.9.2. Section 102.1 amended. <br />Section 102.1 of the Fire Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />Section 102.1. ExistinQ Conditions. <br />The provisions of this code shall apply to existing conditions as well as to <br />conditions arising after the adoption thereof, except that the conditions legally in <br />existence at the time of adoption of this Code and not in strict compliance <br />therewith shall be permitted to continue only if, in the opinion of the Chief, they <br />do not constitute a distinct hazard to life or property.
