ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2.68 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO AWARD OF CONTRACTS AND PRE QUALIFICATION OF BIDDERS THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 2.68 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby amended to read as follow: "Section 2.68(a). Award of Contract. Except as provided in subdivision (b), every contract for any public work or improvement project and every contract for the purchase of materials, equipment or supplies costing more than Ten Thousand Dollars ($10, 000.00) shall be awarded by the Council to the lowest responsible bidder

<br /> DES:djk '~/18/95 (066/9) <br />bidder for a contract, it shall be required for all <br />prospective bidders for that contract. <br />The standard form of prequalification questionnaire <br />shall include, but not be limited to, questions pertaining <br />to the following criteria: <br />(i) The familiarity and experience of the prospective <br /> bidder \vi th the particular type of public work or <br /> improvement project designated in the <br /> questionnaire; <br />(ii) The sufficiency of personnel, equipment, materials <br /> and other facilities or resources of the <br /> prospective bidder to accomplish the work of the <br /> designated project within the time specified, and <br /> in conformance to the specifications thereof; <br />(iii) The qualification and capacity of the prospective <br /> bidder to obtain, if required, performance and <br /> payment bonds in the amount of 100% of the cost of <br /> the contract for the designated project from a <br /> bonding or security company licensed to do <br /> business in the State of California; <br />(iv) The financial condition of the prospective bidder; <br />(v) The experience of the prospective bidder in <br /> performing public works contracts, generally, and <br /> public and private contracts for works or <br /> improvements similar to the designated project; <br />(vi) The safety record of the prospective bidder with <br /> respect to construction contracts; <br />(vii) The record of the prospective bidder within the <br /> 2 <br />
