activities of the Authority relating to proposals for substantive revisions to the <br />Master Franchise; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City is a member agency of the South <br />Bayside Transfer Station Authority ("Authority"), a public agency established <br />pursuant to the California Joint Exercise of Powers Authority Act (Govt. C. §6500 <br />et seq.); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the Master Franchise by extending <br />the term thereof and to revise the period during which notice must be given not <br />to extend the term thereafter, in order to accommodate activities of the Authority <br /> <br />relating to proposed substantive provisions to the Master Franchise; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION '1. That certain agreement entitled, "Fourth Amendment to <br />Uniform Franchise Agreement" (form dated 05/05/99), by and between the City <br />of Redwood City, a municipal corporation of the State of California, and <br />Browning-Ferris Industries of California, Inc., amending Section 2.2(c) <br />("Extension") of said Master Franchise, a copy of which Fourth Amendment is on <br />file in the office of the City Clerk, to which copy reference is hereby made for the <br />full particulars thereof, is hereby approved, and the City Manager and City Clerk <br />are hereby authorized and directed to execute, and to attest thereto, <br />respectively, said Fourth Amendment for and on behalf of the City of Redwood <br />City. <br /> <br />Ord-063 2 <br />F:lsharedlredwoodlcouncil <br />DES:djk <br />05/05/99 2159 <br /> <br /> <br />
