completion of courses of instruction related to the employee's position with the City or <br />a nigher position with the City. <br /> <br />An Executive Management employee shall be eligible to receive reimbursement not to <br />exceed six hundred-fifty dollars ($650.00) per fiscal year, provided that the courses of <br />instruction require attendance at an accredited community college or university, are <br />part ora curriculum leading to a degree or given by an ac~credited institution of <br />learning, are approved in advance of enrollment by the Human Resources Director, <br />and the employee successfully completes such course submitted for reimbursement <br />with a grade of"C" or better. The Educational Expense Reimbursement Program may <br />be used for professional development workshops or seminars. <br /> <br />Executive Management employees shall receive an additional $750.00 per calendar <br />year. Executive Management employees can, at any time during the calendar year, <br />make a request for the payment oftnis benefit in writing to the Financial Services <br />Manager. Any Executive Management employee who has not requested this benefit in <br />writing by November 30, shall receive payment of this benefit in December. <br /> <br />The Human Resources Director may establish standards and criteria and enact such <br />rules, regulations, procedures and policies as are necessary or appropriate to <br />implement the provisions of this section. <br /> <br />Auto Allowance - Executive Management employees who are required to keep <br />available a privately-owned vehicle for use in traveling on City business during his/her <br />working days as a condition of employment shall receive an amount equal to estimated <br />actual costs, including costs of fuel, maintenance, repairs insurance and depreciation, <br />which amount shall not exceed $220.00 per month. <br /> <br /> For Executive Management employees hired on or after October 1, 1995, the <br /> maximum allowance will not exceed $220.00 per month for Department Heads and <br /> shall not exceed $160.00 per month for all other Executive Management employees. <br /> <br /> Executive Management employees may receive additional compensation based on the <br /> current prescribed IRS mileage reimbursement rate per mile for each mile in excess of <br /> 1,500. Mileage records shall be maintained for establishing such payment. <br /> <br /> Other Exnenses - Upon approval of the City Manager and department head, the City <br /> will reimburse employees for expenses incurred in performance oftbeir assigned job <br /> duties when such other expenses are other than, or in addition to, expenses based upon <br /> mileage transportation costs. <br /> <br /> Compensation for Vehicular Damage - An employee may be compensated by the <br /> City for property damage to a private venicle owned by the employee or his/her <br /> spouse, provided that at the time the damage occurred the employee was using the <br /> vehicle within the scope of his/her employment and dkeetly in pursuit of City business. <br /> <br /> <br />
