ORDINANCE NO. 2171 ORDINANCE ADDING ARTICLE VII TO CHAPTER 14 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY REGARDING GRAFFITI THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Findin, qs. The City Council of the City of Redwood City finds and declares as follows: 1. The increase of graffiti on both public and private buildings, structures, places, and vehicles is creating a condition of blight within the City which results in a deterioration of property and business values for adjacent and surrounding properties all to the detriment of the City

In addition, whenever the property is occupied, a <br /> courtesy copy of the notice shall be delivered to the occupant. <br /> <br /> Section 14.104. Removal of Graffiti: The owner of any residential property to <br />whom a notice has been sent or delivered pursuant to Section 14.103 of this Code, <br />shall remove the graffiti or other inscribed materials within seven (7) calendar days <br />from the date of the notice. The owner of any commercial property to whom a notice <br />has been sent or delivered pursuant to Section 14.105 of this Code, shall remove the <br />graffiti or other inscribed materials within three (3) calendar days from the date of the <br />notice. <br /> <br /> Section 14.105. Failure to Remove Graffiti: Failure by the owner to remove the <br />graffiti or other inscribed materials within the period of time specified in Section 14.104 <br />of this Code shall constitute an infraction and, upon conviction thereof, shall be <br />punishable as set forth in Section 1.7B of this Code. <br /> <br /> Section 14.106. Cumulative Effect: The provisions of this Article are <br />cumulative and in addition to any and all other procedures or remedies provided in <br />ordinances of this City or by State law for the abatement of nuisances." <br /> <br /> Section 2.
