<br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. The foregoing recitals are, and each of them <br />is, true and correct and the Council so determines. <br /> SECTION 2. The Council of the City of Redwood City hereby <br />finds and determines that the public necessity, health, safety <br />and welfare require the establishment of an underground utility <br />district to accomplish the purposes set forth in Resolution <br />No. 8503, adopted February 25, 1980, by said Council, within the <br />area described in "Exhibit A" hereof, attached hereto and incor- <br />porated herein; and this Council hereby further finds and deter- <br />mines that each and all of the following specific matters in <br />furtherance of the general public interest exist with relation <br />to said underground utility district: <br /> The streets, roads or rights of way in the district <br /> are extensively used by the general public and carry <br /> a heavy volume of pedestrian and vehicular traffic. <br /> SECTION 3. Said district is hereby established and declared <br />formed, and designated as "UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 1980-2." <br /> SECTION 4. The boundaries of the district are hereby fixed <br />and determined to be as set forth and described in "Exhibit A, " <br />attached hereto and incorporated herein. Reference is hereby made <br />to the map of said district boundaries as shown on "Exhibit B, " <br />attached hereto and incorporated herein, for a general description <br />of the district. <br /> SECTION 5. Pursuant to Section 11.45(c) of the Code of the <br />City of Redwood City, the time within which poles and overhead <br />wires and associated overhead structures shall be removed from <br />all streets, alleys or ways is hereby fixed as 170 calendar days <br />from the effective date of this ordinance. <br /> -2- <br /> '''T'-- <br />
