<br />require the establishment of an underground utility district to <br />accomplish the purposes set forth in Resolution No. 8941, adopted <br />August 24, 1981, by said Council, within the area described in <br />"Exhibit A" hereof, attached hereto and incorporated herein; and <br />this Council hereby further finds and determines that each and all of <br />the following specific matters in furtherance of the general public <br />interest exist with relation to said underground utility district: <br />( a) Such undergrounding will avoid or eliminate an unusually <br /> heavy concentration of overhead electric facilities. <br />(b) The streets, roads or rights of way in the district are <br /> extensively used by the general public and carry a heavy <br /> volume of pedestrian and vehicular traffic. <br />SECTION 3. Said district is hereby established and declared <br />formed, and designated as "UNDERGOUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 1980-I. " <br />SECTION 4. The boundaries of the district are hereby fixed and <br />determined to be as set forth and described in "Exhibit A," attached <br />hereto and incorporated herein. Reference is hereby made to the map <br />of said district boundaries as shown on "Exhibit B," attached hereto <br />and incorporated herein, for a general description of the district. <br />SECTION 5. Pursuant to Section 11.45(c) of the Code of the City <br />of Redwood City, the date within which poles and overhead wires and <br />associated overhead structures shall be removed from all streets, <br />alleys or ways is hereby fixed as March 31, 1983. <br />SECTION 6. Pursuant to Section 11.45(d) of the Code of the <br />City of Redwood City, the date within which all affected property <br />owners must provide for service from underground facilities is fixed <br />as January 31, 1983. <br />SECTION 7. From and after the time fixed by Section 5 of this <br />ordinance, it shall be unlawful for any person, including utility <br />companies, to erect, maintain or operate any pole, overhead wire or <br />associated structure in any portion of any public street, alley or <br />way within Underground Utility District No. 1980-I. Violations of <br />this section shall be a misdemeanor punishable as provided in Section <br /> -2- <br />
