<br /> " , (e) All residential buildings classified as Group R, <br /> Division 1 or 3 occupanciesf as defined in the Uniform Building <br /> Code, 1979 Edition, and existing upon the e£fective date of this <br /> section, shall have installed in each unit therein an approved <br /> fire detection products-of-combustion alarm device. The device <br /> shall be sensitive to any. of the products-of-combustion except <br /> that devices sensitive only.-.toheat shall not be acceptable. <br /> Alarm signaling devices shall be clearly audible in all bedrooms <br /> when all intervening doors are clos,ed. The building owner shall <br /> be responsible for assuring that the alarm signaling devices <br /> required herein shall be maintained ,in an operable condition. <br /> "'Every such residential building shall conform to the <br /> provisions hereof at such time as an addition, alteration or repair <br /> of a value in excess of One Thousand Dollars ( $1 , 000 . 00) 'i s made <br /> thereto or before the close of escrowuif the building-is sold. <br /> In any~vent, all residential buildings shall conform to the <br /> provisions hereof hy July 1, 1984. <br /> Section 12.16 Section 11. 303 is hereby added to the Fire Code <br />to read as follows: <br /> " 'Section 11. 303 FALSE ALARM RESPONSE CHARGE.
