ORIGI NAL NOV 23 1981 --------- - - ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9.118 OF, AND ADDING SECTION 9.119 TO, ARTICLE IX OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, RELATING TO DISCONNECTING UNGROUNDED CONDUCTORS AND PENALTY PROVISIONS, RESPECTIVELY THIS COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION l. Section 9.118 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 9.118 Section 230-76 of the Electrical Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "ISection 230-76. The disconnecting means for under grounded conductors shall consist of either ( 1) a manually operable switch or circuit breaker equipped with handle other suitable operating

<br />in violation of any permit, or any provision thereof, duly <br />issued pursuant to the provisions of this article. <br />(b) Any person violating any provision of this article, or of <br />any Code provision as adopted by this article, or violating any <br />permit, or any provision thereof, duly issued pursuant to the <br />provisions of this article, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, <br />and each such person shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense <br />for each and every day or portion thereof during which any violation <br />of any of the provisions of such codes, amendments, permits or <br />provisions thereof is committed, continued or permitted, and upon <br />conviction of any such violation, such person shall be punishable <br />by a fine of not more than Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00) or by <br />imprisonment for not more than ninety (90) days or by both such <br />fine and imprisonment." <br />SECTION 3. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase <br />or portion of this ordinance, or the Code adopted by reference in this <br />ordinance, or any amendment thereof, is for any reason held invalid or <br />or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such portion <br />shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision and <br />such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions <br />thereof. <br />SECTION 4. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict <br />with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be effective 30 days after its <br />adoption; provided, however, that any building or structure lawfully <br />commenced by the completion of its foundation structure may be completed <br />in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Redwood City Code <br />amended by this ordinance provided that such construction is in strict <br />compliance with such provisions. <br /> * * * <br /> -2- <br /> ---.... <br />
