<br /> DES:mf 3/17/82 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> ORDINANCE 1856 <br />ORDINANCE ADDING SECTION 3. 74. 1 TO, AND AMENDING <br /> SECTION 3.101 OF, ARTICLE II OF CHAPl'ER 3 OF THE <br /> CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ("THE REDWOOD <br /> CITY SIGN ORDINANCE") RELATING TO THE DEFINITION <br /> OF "SHOPPING CEN'IER" AND THE MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE <br /> NUMBER OF FREE STANDING SIGNS, RESPECTIVELY <br /> THE COUNCIL OF REf:X,\O()D CITY OOES ORDAIN AS FOI.J..CWS: <br /> SECTION 1. Section 3. 74. 1 is hereby added to the Code of the City <br /> of Redwood City to read as follows: <br /> "SECTION 3.74.l. Same - Shopping Center. The words "Shopping <br /> Center" shall mean the real property and improvements comprised of <br /> a group of two or rrore retail stores served by a common parking lot <br /> for the use of the patrons of such stores." <br /> SECTION 2. Section 3.101 of the Code of the City of Redwood City <br /> is hereby arrended to read as follows: <br /> "SECTION 3.10l. Sarre - Maximum Number per Parcel or Shopping <br /> Center. Not rrore than one free standing sign shall <br /> be placed or maintained on any parcel of real property in one <br /> ownership, or on the real property of any Shopping Center; <br /> provided, however, that if the area of such parcel or Shopping <br /> Center exceeds five (5) acres and the public access thereto is <br /> from two or rrore street frontages, the number of free standing <br /> signs which may be erected thereon shall be one per each five <br /> (5) acres or portion thereof, but in no event rrore than three <br /> (3) such signs." <br /> SECTION 3.
