JAN 6 00 --------- - ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 40.3, 40.4, 40.5, 40.7, 40.9, 40.10, 40.11, 40.14 AND 40.15 OF, AND ADDING SECTION 40.4.1 TO CHAPTER 40 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, RELATING TO HISTORIC PRESERVATION THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 40.3 of the Redwood City Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 40.3. Definitions. <br /> S :sh 10/30/84 <br /> SWC:sh 6/20/85R <br /> Swc:sh 11/12/85R <br /> available, of property interests therein for <br /> purposes of historic preservation. <br /> " (f) Investigate and report to the City Council on the <br /> use of various Federal, State, local, or private <br /> funding sources and mechanisms available to <br /> promote historic preservation in the City. <br /> " (g) Approve or disapprove, in whole or in part, <br /> applications for permits pursuant to this chapter. <br /> " (h) Cooperate with local, County, State and Federal <br /> governments in the pursuit of the objectives of <br /> historic preservation. <br /> " (i) Render advice and guidance, upon the request of <br /> the property owner or occupant, on the <br /> restoration, alteration, decoration, landscaping <br /> or maintenance of any historic or cultural <br /> resources including landmark, landmark site, <br /> historic district, or neighboring property wi thin <br /> public view. <br /> " (j ) Participate in, promote, and conduct public <br /> information, educational, and interpretive <br /> programs pertaining to historic and cultural <br /> resources. <br /> " (k) Perform any other functions that may be designated <br /> by the City Council." <br />The Commission shall give consideration to the recommendations of <br />the Committee before taking any official action pursuant to this <br />section." <br /> SECTION 4. Section 40.7 of the Redwood City Code is hereby <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 40.7. Historic Designation Procedures. <br />Historic landmarks, historic sites, and historic districts shall <br />be established by the City Council in the following manner: <br /> " (a) Any person may request the designation of an <br /> improvement as a historic landmark or the <br /> designation of a historic site or historic <br /> 4 <br /> ...._. ~~_.- <br />
