MAR ;¿ 4 1986 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 12 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; AND ADDING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 12 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO FIRE PREVENTION; AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE "UNIFORM FIRE CODE, 1985 EDITION, " AS PUBLISHED BY THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF BUILDING OFFICIALS AND THE WESTERN FIRE CHIEFS ASSOCIATION THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Article II (commencing at 12.7) of Chapter 12 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby repealed. ~ SECTION 2. Article II (commencing at 12.7) is hereby added to Chapter 12 of the Code of the City of Redwood City, to read as follows: "ARTICLE II

<br /> DAS:sh 2/6/85 <br /> "Section 12.8. Wherever the following words appear in <br />the Fire Code, they shall be held to have the following <br />meanings: <br /> " (a) Wherever the word 'municipality' appears, it shall <br />be held to mean the City. <br /> " (b) Wherever the words 'Chief of the Bureau of Fire <br />Prevention' appear, they shall be held to mean the Fire <br />Marshal. <br /> " (c) Wherever the word 'Administrator' appears, it <br />shall be held to mean the City Manager. <br /> "Section 12.9. Section 1.103 of the Fire Code ~s <br />hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> "'Section 1.103 Scope. <br /> " , (a) The provisions of this Code shall supplement any <br />and all laws of this State relating to fire safety and shall <br />apply to all persons without restriction, unless <br />specifically excepted. <br /> " , (b) The provisions of this Code shall apply to <br />existing conditions as well as to conditions arising after <br />the adoption thereof, except that conditions legally ~n <br />existence at the adoption of this Code and not ~n strict <br />compliance therewith shall be permitted to continue only if, <br />~n the opinion of the Chief, they do not constitute a <br />distinct hazard to life or property. <br /> " I (c) The provisions of this Code shall be construed <br />to be in addition to all other requirements and no permit or <br /> 2 <br /> --,~.,,,.,-. <br />
