1963 JAN 1 8 ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 9 . 2 AND 9.24, AND ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, AND VIII OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, INCLUDING THE ADOPTION BY REFERENCE OF THE FOLLOWING CODES: "THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1985 EDITION" ; "THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE STANDARDS, 1985 EDITION" ; "THE UNIFORM BUILDING SECURITY CODE, 1985 EDITION" ; liTHE UNIFORM HOUSING CODE, 1985 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 1985 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1985 EDITION"; AND "THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1984 EDITION" THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 9.2 of the Redwood City Code is hereby amended to read as follows

<br /> S~ nt 12/17/87 (#06) <br /> SWC:nt 12/22/87R <br /> iron, galvanized steel, galvanized wrought iron, lead, <br /> copper, brass, ABS, PVC, extra strength vitrified clay <br /> pipe, or other approved materials having a smooth and <br /> uniform bore, except that: <br /> '" (1) No galvanized wrought iron or galvanized <br /> steel pipe shall be used underground and shall be <br /> kept at least six ( 6) inches (152.4 mm ) above <br /> ground. Metallic piping shall not be used <br /> underground in those areas unlerlain by younger <br /> bay mud (see map published by Redwood City <br /> Building Division for approximate locations). <br /> " , (2) ABS and PVC DWV piping installations shall <br /> be limited to residential construction, not more <br /> than two ( 2) stories in height, except as required <br /> in Section 401 (a) (1). <br /> II , (3) No vitrified clay pipe or fittings shall be <br /> used above ground or where pressurized by a pump <br /> or ejector. They shall be kept at least twelve <br /> (12) inches ( . 3m) below ground. ' " <br /> "Section 9.83. Section 503(a) of the Plumbing Code is <br /> hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> "'Section 503(a).
