1963 JAN 1 8 ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 9 . 2 AND 9.24, AND ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, AND VIII OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, INCLUDING THE ADOPTION BY REFERENCE OF THE FOLLOWING CODES: "THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1985 EDITION" ; "THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE STANDARDS, 1985 EDITION" ; "THE UNIFORM BUILDING SECURITY CODE, 1985 EDITION" ; liTHE UNIFORM HOUSING CODE, 1985 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 1985 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1985 EDITION"; AND "THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1984 EDITION" THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 9.2 of the Redwood City Code is hereby amended to read as follows

The <br /> shunt trip push button device shall be installed (a) where <br /> the main disconnects are more than ten (10) feet of a direct <br /> line of sight to an outside main door, or (b) when required <br /> by the Electrical Inspector or Fire Marshal. II <br /> IISection 9.119. Section 300-22(e) is hereby added to <br /> the Electrical Code to read as follows: <br /> "'Section 300-22(e). Low Voltage Wiring Above <br /> Suspended Ceilings. Low voltage and communication <br /> system wiring installed above suspended ceilings shall <br /> comply with the following requirements: <br /> " , (1) Installed with approved straps or hangers. <br /> '" (2) Protected from possible damage. <br /> II , (3) Maintain a minimum twelve (12) inch <br /> clearance above the suspended ceiling. If the <br /> suspended ceiling is installed with less than (12) <br /> inch clearance to the structure above, such wiring <br /> shall be installed so that all ceiling tiles can <br /> be removed. <br /> II , (4) Installed in accordance with other more <br /> restrictive codes or installation instructions. 'II <br /> SECTION 7. This ordinance shall be effective 30 days after <br /> its adoption. <br /> * * * * <br /> 25 <br />
