--------- ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTION 21.17 OF CHAPTER 21 AND ADDING CHAPTER 3A TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO ALARM SYSTEMS THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The <br /> back-up power supply shall be designed so that when the <br /> primary power suply is interrupted, the system will <br /> continue as if no power interruption has occurred, and <br /> will not signal an alarm. <br /> " (e) Quality of Alarm System. Every alarm system shall <br /> bear the label of Underwriters' Laboratories Inc. or <br /> another testing laboratory which has facilities, <br /> personnel, and operating procedures equivalent to those <br /> of the Underwriters' Laboratories Inc. " <br /> "Section 3A.3. Automatic Dialing Devices. It shall be <br />unlawful for any person to use, or cause to be used, or <br />permit to be used, any telephone device or telephone <br />attachment or any electrical or mechanical device that <br />automatically selects any public telephone trunkline of the <br />City of Redwood City and then reproduces any tone, signal or <br />prerecorded message to report any burglary, robbery or other <br />emergency. " <br /> "Section 3A. 4. False Alarm Service Charge. Every owner <br />of an alarm system that has transmitted more than three (3 ) <br />false alarms in any twelve (12) month period shall pay to <br />the City a service charge of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) <br />for each succeeding false alarm.
